Projects
Create, manage, and clone BOMs efficiently.
Projects Page (/projects)
The Projects page shows all your BOMs as a card grid. Each card displays the project name, variant tag (if set), and creation date.
Creating a project
Click New Project, fill in the name and optional description, and click Create.
Opening a project
Click any project card to go to its BOM workspace.
Plan limits
Free tier accounts can hold up to 3 projects with up to 50 parts per project. Pro tier accounts have higher limits. Current limits are displayed on each card when you are approaching them.
Project Detail Page
This is the main workspace for a project. It contains:
- Breadcrumb navigation — click Projects to return to the dashboard.
- Project header — name, description, variant tag, Clone and Import CSV buttons.
- Project Settings panel — collapsible; override global currency and distributor preferences for this project only.
- BOM table — the core workspace.
- Matching controls — Run Matching, AI Assist, and Export buttons above the table.
- Natural Language Query bar — plain-English BOM filter.
Project Settings
Project Settings let you apply a currency or distributor preference that differs from your account-wide defaults. Each setting shows whether it is Inheriting (from global preferences) or Overriding (set locally).
Click Save to persist changes. Re-run matching after changing distributor preferences to apply them.
Cloning Projects
Cloning creates a full copy of a project — BOM lines, all matched results, alternative data, and project-level preferences.
From the Projects page: Click Clone project at the bottom of any project card.
From inside a project: Click Clone project in the project header.
After cloning, you are redirected to the new project. The clone is independent — changes to it do not affect the original.
Cloning is useful for:
- Creating design variants from a shared base BOM
- Testing a different distributor or currency configuration without affecting the original
- Archiving a stable BOM state before making experimental changes
