Our mission
BOMexplorer exists because hardware engineers shouldn't spend hours doing what software can do in seconds.
After designing a PCB in KiCad, engineers face a tedious reality: manually checking component availability, pricing, and stock levels across multiple distributors. This process is not only time-consuming but error-prone, with stock levels changing between checks and orders.
BOMexplorer automates this workflow — searching 6 providers simultaneously, using AI to classify tricky components, monitoring supply chain changes overnight, and alerting you to price spikes or end-of-life notices. Engineers get the data they need to make informed decisions quickly and confidently.
The problem we're solving

Peter is the founder of Tech Explorations, an electronics education platform used by engineers worldwide. With courses on KiCad, Arduino, ESP32, and PCB design, Tech Explorations has helped thousands learn practical electronics skills.
BOMexplorer grew out of Peter's frustration with the manual BOM sourcing process while building real PCB projects. As both an educator and practitioner, he understands the pain points engineers face and built BOMexplorer to solve them.
The platform combines multi-provider data aggregation, AI-powered part matching, supply chain monitoring with overnight re-queries, natural language BOM filtering, and full substitution management — all in one workflow designed by someone who's been in the trenches.
